The 3D volumes of the proposal have been developed in response to the levels to form a hierarchy of masses based on the key uses of the building: dining, kitchen, and restaurant, these are then played out in the treatment of the facades.

The palette of materials is: a dark brick forming a ribbon around the base of the building which responds to the use of brick around the site, white brick delineating the restaurant block, vertical timber cladding to dining and kitchen volumes, with a small amount of brick being used internally, to create a sense of cohesion.
